About The Position

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards. The position is based at Kingston Health Center of Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
• Current, valid state PTA licensure or certification; must be maintained.
• 0–1 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

• Current, valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans designed by Physical Therapists, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as heat, cold, and electrical stimulation.
• Observe patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ therapy responses and progress.
• Instruct patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to support continued progress at home.
• Support Physical Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress by providing observations and insights.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
