About The Position

Leaps and Bounds Pediatric Therapy is seeking a licensed Certified Physical Therapist Assistant to join their Physical Therapy team. This is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice offering Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting and on a ranch incorporating hippotherapy. Requirements

Possess a valid California PTA License
Clear Livescan
TB Test
CPR Healthcare Provider Card
Availability must include until 6:30pm during weekdays
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Regularly stand, bend, stoop, lift and move intermittently during shifts
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be able to push or pull wheeled equipment over 100lbs.

Responsibilities

Administer manual exercises; instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities, such as therapeutic exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities, and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses, to help patients accomplish goals outlined in the treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices.
Administer physical therapy treatment applying physical agents and electrical stimulation.
Evaluate the effects of physical therapy treatments and the fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating the patient's progress; recommend adjustments and modifications in conjunction with the primary physical therapist.
Design home exercise programs; instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommend and/or provide assistive equipment with the primary physical therapist to ensure continuation of the therapeutic plan following discharge.
Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
Maintain patient confidence and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
