About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is hiring licensed Physical Therapist Assistants to provide hands-on care to older adults in Muscatine, Iowa, and surrounding communities. Working with a supervising Physical Therapist, the PTA carries out individualized treatment plans, guides patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, and supports patients in rebuilding strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. Care is delivered in patients’ homes and senior living communities through FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model. The role offers one-on-one patient care within a supportive, interdisciplinary team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Fitness Specialists. PTAs receive mentorship from their supervising PT and opportunities to develop clinical skills, caseload, and career. FOX offers full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex pathways; benefits eligibility depends on role and, for part-time employees, minimum-hours requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of in-home and community-based care, including medium physical effort; lifting 25–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly; performing CPR; providing moderate to maximum assistance with patient transfers and bed mobility, including repositioning a bed-bound patient alone; standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and extensive walking; repetitive upper-extremity movements; driving to patient locations; and wearing PPE when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities, observing and tracking progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system in accordance with clinical documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, powers of attorney (POAs), and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
- Provide in-home and community-based care, including visits to senior living communities.
