Physical Therapist Assistant - Sioux City, IA
About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is hiring licensed Physical Therapist Assistants to provide hands-on care to older adults in Sioux City, Iowa, and surrounding communities. Using FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model, the PTA works closely with a supervising Physical Therapist to deliver individualized treatment plans in patients’ homes and senior living communities. The role involves guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities to help improve strength, mobility, confidence, and independence. PTAs work as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Fitness Specialists. The position offers one-on-one patient care, mentorship from a supervising PT, and opportunities to develop clinical skills, caseload, and career. FOX describes its practice as clinician-operated and focused on meaningful relationships, evidence-based care, independence, wellness, longevity, and abolishing ageism. The schedule can be built by the clinician. Full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex pathways are available; benefits are offered for full-time roles and for eligible part-time roles based on minimum-hours requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current CPR certification.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting 25–50 lbs occasionally, 10–25 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly; performing CPR; assisting patients with transfers and bed mobility, including repositioning a bed-bound patient alone; standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and extensive walking; repetitive upper-extremity movements; driving between care locations; and wearing PPE when required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities, while observing and tracking progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system in accordance with its Clinical Documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, powers of attorney, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
- Provide in-home and community-based care, including driving to patient homes and senior living communities.
