About The Position

The Phlebotomy Specialist II collects patient specimens using proper protocols for patient identification, vein and tube selection, and labeling in inpatient and outpatient settings. The position promotes exceptional customer service and fosters a customer-centric, professional setting that contributes to a positive and productive work environment. It requires travel to offsite locations and flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to collect specimens from adult and pediatric patients in a hospital, outpatient, or long-term care facility.
• Reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
• Strong interpersonal, computer, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under stress and contribute to a team environment.
• Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Training in a phlebotomy program preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and label patient specimens following protocols for patient identification, vein selection, and tube selection.
• Collect blood samples from adult and pediatric patients using venipuncture and capillary collection methods in various clinical settings.
• Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a professional, positive, and productive work environment.
• Travel to offsite locations as required.
• Work different shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
