Phlebotomy Tech - Full Time

About The Position

The Phlebotomy Tech collects blood and body fluids for laboratory analysis and physician evaluation of a patient's condition, care, and treatment plan. The role performs simple single-step testing approved by CLIA and CLIA-approved point-of-care testing, and participates in the Clinical Laboratory's quality control plan, including instrumentation and personnel proficiency. The employee may be asked to cover any shift. The role communicates quality-control outcomes pertinent to regulatory agents, specimen analysis, and patient care to the Laboratory Medical Director (Pathologist), Manager, Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Nursing, Physicians, and physician-designated personnel. The position reviews and documents quality-control data according to policy and procedure and performs clerical duties, including phone, fax, and copier tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Continuing Education Certification in Phlebotomy from an approved course equivalent preferred.
Documentation of training that includes skills required for proper specimen collection, including patient preparation, labeling, handling, and preservation.

Cover any shift when asked.
