About The Position

Bon Secours is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at St. Francis Downtown. The role collects quality blood samples, prepares specimens for laboratory testing, and completes clerical tasks to support efficient department operations. Duties also include order entry, looking up results, generating reports, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly, helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification preferred, but not required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred, but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful customer service to patients and community members.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient to the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
