About The Position

Bon Secours is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department at St. Francis Downtown. The position is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and completing clerical work that supports efficient department operations. Duties also include order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly, helpful manner. The role requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community members respectfully and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect and process specimens according to established procedures.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity to the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform departmental clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
