About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join its team in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The role provides exceptional customer service, performs skilled specimen collections, and serves as a representative of the company. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Travel to additional sites may be required. The position offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least six months of experience as a phlebotomist.
• If substituting certification or training for work experience, the credential or program must be from an accredited agency.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
