About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join its team in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The role provides exceptional customer service, performs skilled specimen collections, and represents the company to patients. The position offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization. Phlebotomists may be eligible to participate in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The role may require travel to additional sites and overtime as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
• If qualifying in lieu of work experience, phlebotomy certification or completed training must be from an accredited agency.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
