About The Position

The Phlebotomist collects and processes patient specimens for testing, following laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols. The role includes performing laboratory work in the pre- and post-analytic phases and preparing specimens according to collection procedures to support accurate, reliable results. The position is full-time and on-site at Burlington Hospital in Willingboro, with a first-shift schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday plus every other weekend, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The schedule totals 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal phlebotomy training.
Previous customer service experience and demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work.
Good interpersonal and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working as a phlebotomist in a medical setting.
ASCP, NHA, or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

Identify patients, perform phlebotomy, and label specimens.
Verify and process specimens, arrange shipment, and front-load specimens on instruments for testing.
Perform pre-analytical processes, including patient registration and test ordering.
Provide outstanding customer service through effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
Perform clerical tasks, including telephone communication, report generation, and faxing.
Follow policies, procedures, and laboratory protocols when carrying out routine tasks and specimen collection and preparation.
