IL Phlebotomist / Full-time Days

About The Position
As a phlebotomist, you will be one of the first healthcare professionals patients interact with during their care journey. You will use compassion, attention to detail, and technical skills to support a positive patient experience while ensuring high-quality specimen collection and accurate test results. This is a full-time day-shift position.
Requirements
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary draws for laboratory testing, blood donations, and other diagnostic purposes.
- Verify patient identification and ensure specimen accuracy throughout the collection process.
- Label, process, and transport specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain patient comfort, safety, and dignity during collection procedures.
- Explain procedures and help alleviate patient concerns.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory requirements.
