About The Position

The Phlebotomist joins the Laboratory Department at St. Francis Cancer Center and is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and completing clerical duties to support efficient department operations. Duties include order entry, result lookup, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

High school degree or GED.
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

Phlebotomist certification.
One year of phlebotomy experience.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and community members respectfully and provide excellent customer service.
Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service.
Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
Perform departmental clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel to off-site locations.
