The Phlebotomist/Registration role works in a single assigned work area and provides specimen collection, registration, and processing services for patients in the main hospital, outpatient lab draw stations, and off-site mental health and skilled nursing facilities and clinics. This is a high-volume position, with approximately 50% of duties involving computer use and targets to meet. The role also provides clerical support to the Pathology Department and performs other duties as assigned. Work assignments may include main hospital inpatient phlebotomy and processing and registering samples received from physician offices; outpatient health park phlebotomy, with floating to any health park as needed; or mobile phlebotomy, traveling daily among nursing homes, corporate entities, and residential facilities. Approximately half the work involves specimen collection and half involves data entry, registration, and other computer-related tasks. The position is part-time at .5 FTE, on the evening shift. The first month or so includes full-time training on the hired shift.
