Pharmacy Technician, Back End Full Time
About The Position
As a Back-End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, a CVS Health Company, you will help meet medication needs and regulatory standards for patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings. This role works in a closed-door pharmacy and rotates among various workstations, supporting order fulfillment through medication packaging and dispensing, delivery-order and bin accuracy checks, and stock rotation. The position also involves receiving product deliveries, pulling and staging products for distribution, coordinating with drivers to ensure accurate shipments and timely deliveries, and performing physical medication inventories. Workstations may include Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
Requirements
- Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, or as required by state law.
- One or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- Five or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Rotate and work in assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Support order fulfillment in a closed-door pharmacy, including packaging and dispensing medication.
- Review delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
- Coordinate stock rotations.
- Receive product deliveries, pull and stage product for distribution, and rotate stock.
- Coordinate activities with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Help ensure medication needs and regulatory standards are met for patients.
