About The Position

Pharmacy Technicians at the Tier 1 level perform basic pharmaceutical duties under the direct supervision of ProHealth Care Registered Pharmacists. They are expected to work independently and accurately, use basic mathematical and pharmaceutical calculations, and communicate effectively by computer and telephone while interacting with other healthcare personnel. Tier 1 technicians demonstrate competence in ordering and controlling stock, selecting drug products, preparing nonsterile medications, handling controlled substances, and using pharmacy automated systems. This position is based at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and is a 1.0 FTE commitment of 40 hours per week. The schedule consists of four 10.5-hour shifts each week, typically split evenly between first and second shifts, with start times varying from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The position includes an every-third-weekend staffing rotation (one weekend per month) and an every-third-holiday rotation (two holidays per year).

Requirements

Proficiency in basic mathematical and pharmaceutical calculations.
Computer and telephone skills.
Ability to provide accurate, independent work.
Ability to interact well with other healthcare personnel.
Competence in ordering and controlling stock, selecting drug products, nonsterile drug preparation, controlled substance handling, and pharmacy automated systems.
