About The Position

Omnicare is a provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities, including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. This back-end pharmacy technician role supports order fulfillment in a closed-door pharmacy and helps ensure medication needs and regulatory standards are met. The technician rotates among assigned workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging. The role also involves receiving deliveries, preparing products for distribution, coordinating with drivers, checking shipment accuracy and delivery timeliness, and conducting medication inventories. The position is employed by Omnicare, which is described as continuing as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.

Requirements

Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, or as required by state law.
At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
PTCB National Certification.
At least five years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Rotate and work in assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
Receive product deliveries; pull and stage products for distribution; rotate stock; and coordinate activities with drivers to help ensure accurate shipments and timely deliveries.
Perform physical inventories of medication.
Support order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medication and reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
