About The Position

The Back-End Pharmacy Technician works in Omnicare’s closed-door pharmacy to help meet patients’ medication needs and regulatory standards. The role rotates among pharmacy workstations and supports medication order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medications, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, coordinating stock rotations, and helping ensure shipments are accurate and delivered on time. The technician also performs medication inventories and works with drivers to coordinate distribution. Omnicare serves skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings; this role is employed by Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.

Requirements

• Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
• At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
• Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• PTCB National Certification.
• At least five years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Rotate among assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
• Package and dispense medications and support order fulfillment in a closed-door pharmacy.
• Review delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
• Receive product deliveries, pull and stage products for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate activities with drivers to ensure accurate shipments and timely deliveries.
• Perform physical inventories of medication.
• Help ensure medication needs and regulatory standards are met for patients.
