About The Position

As a Back-End Pharmacy Technician with Omnicare, you will help ensure patients’ medication needs and regulatory standards are met in a closed-door pharmacy setting. You will rotate among assigned workstations and support order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medication, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, and coordinating stock rotations. The role also includes receiving deliveries, pulling and staging products for distribution, coordinating with drivers to ensure accurate shipments and timely deliveries, and conducting physical medication inventories. Omnicare provides pharmacy services to skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional and chronic care settings. The pharmacies are not open to the public. Following Omnicare’s sale by CVS Health, the person hired will be employed by Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization.

Requirements

Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
PTCB National Certification.
At least five years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Rotate through assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
Fulfill orders in a closed-door pharmacy, including packaging and dispensing medication.
Review delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
Receive product deliveries, pull and stage products for distribution, rotate stock, and coordinate activities with drivers to ensure accurate shipments and timely deliveries.
Perform physical inventories of medication.
