Pharmacy Technician Back End
About The Position
CVS Health’s Omnicare is hiring a Back-End Pharmacy Technician to support medication fulfillment in a closed-door pharmacy serving skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings. The technician works across assigned pharmacy workstations to help meet patients’ medication needs and regulatory standards. Workstations may include Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging. The role includes packaging and dispensing medications, reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy, receiving deliveries, pulling and staging products for distribution, rotating stock, coordinating with drivers to support accurate and timely shipments, and conducting physical medication inventories. The position is full-time, with 40 anticipated weekly hours.
Requirements
- Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- At least five years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through and work at assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Package and dispense medications in a closed-door pharmacy setting.
- Review delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
- Receive product deliveries, pull and stage products for distribution, and rotate stock.
- Coordinate activities with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Help ensure medication needs and regulatory standards are met for patients.
