About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician assists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications under a pharmacist’s supervision and ensures compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. The role also includes managing customer data and pharmacy records, counseling patients and medical providers about medications, supporting pharmacy operations, and contributing to financial and operational goals.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Prepare and dispense prescription medications under the pharmacist’s supervision.
• Follow directions from the pharmacist on duty and the pharmacy manager.
• Enter customer data into the computer, maintain accurate records, and complete required pharmacy paperwork.
• Counsel patients and medical providers about the nature and use of drugs, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Contribute to financial goals, including sales, gross profit maximization, and minimizing shrink and supply expenses.
• Maintain the security of controlled substances.
