Pharmacy Technician - Phone Support (Inbound)
About The Position
Onco360, a closed-door specialty pharmacy located in Waltham, Massachusetts, is seeking a compassionate, certified pharmacy technician for its inbound phone support team. This is a remote opportunity after an onsite training period. The role supports healthcare providers and patients by phone, coordinates medication refill deliveries, and assists with rejected insurance claims and prior authorizations. Starting pay is $23.00 per hour and up, with a $3.00 per hour differential for weekend schedules. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for employees who start before December 28, 2026; quarterly incentive bonuses and a $500 bonus for obtaining CPhT and/or CPhT-ADV credentials are also offered.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
- Registered pharmacy technician license or registration, as required by state law.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and be flexible.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, including sig codes and Roman numerals, brand and generic medication names, and general pharmacy terminology.
- Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently when entering information.
- Basic math and analytical skills.
- Intermediate typing and keyboarding skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers and patients by phone, answering questions and requests.
- Communicate with patients and physician office staff to coordinate medication refill deliveries.
- Work with insurance companies regarding rejected claims and prior authorizations.
- Serve as a primary contact for calls to patients and physicians.
