About The Position

Ascension Pharmacy Services is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Advocate to serve as a liaison between patients, pharmacists, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely access to medications. This role involves coordinating prior authorizations, resolving insurance and medication access barriers, and supporting medication adherence efforts through patient outreach, follow-up, and education. The position requires providing high-quality customer service, addressing patient inquiries, and resolving prescription-related issues efficiently in a fast-paced remote environment while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company standards.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
  • Must possess all state and local qualifications.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
  • Active and in good standing: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA.
  • 5+ years of retail pharmacy experience, preferably in a retail, mail-order, or health plan setting. (ex: CVS, Walgreens, Optum, etc)
  • Proficiency in insurance claim adjudication, including troubleshooting and prior authorization processing.
  • Experience with cold calling patients regarding medication need.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare Part D and medication adherence quality measures.
