About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists with preparing sterile and non-sterile medications and distributing medications. The role includes entering medication orders into the pharmacy computer system, issuing narcotics, restocking automated dispensing devices and other stock areas, processing patient charges and credits, and maintaining drug inventory. The technician works only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and does not perform duties legally restricted to registered pharmacists.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of pharmacy technician experience, or 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician I after receiving additional training.
• Pharmacy Technician Registration through the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.
• National Technician Certification required.

Nice To Haves

• College courses are desirable but not required.
