About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech II practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care by philosophy and policy. The role requires a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to enhance patients’ overall health. The technician interacts with patients at service points, promotes pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, and supports prescription processing, medication inventory, and pharmacy operations. The position also requires maintaining patient confidentiality and a clean, orderly pharmacy.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
Licensed in the respective state if required, or successfully complete Meijer employer-based training if licensure is not required.
Retail or community practice experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Positive attitude.
Proficient typing skills.
Neat and eligible penmanship.
Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
Effective communication skills and ability to act as an agent of change.
Teamwork.
Attendance.
Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Retrieve appropriate medications from inventory.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
