About The Position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy student intern to gain pharmacy practice skills in a progressive pharmacy environment that supports patient care. The role provides opportunities to focus on patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease-state management. Interns work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor and help provide personal care to patients and build relationships in the community.

Requirements

• Be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
• Be able to adapt readily and positively to changes in schedules, specifications, and work priorities as business and customer needs demand.
• Be able to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
• Take the steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescriptions, drug therapy, health-related products, and health concerns.
• Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
• Actively participate in clinical services.
