About The Position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy student intern to develop pharmacy practice skills in a progressive community pharmacy environment focused on patient care. Interns currently enrolled in a professional pharmacy program may gain experience in patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease state management. The position offers opportunities to build relationships with patients and contribute to their health care.

Requirements

• Be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
• Readily and positively adapt to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as business and customer needs demand.
• Cooperate with others and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
• Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Advise and consult with customers and health care professionals about prescription knowledge, drug therapy, and health-related products and concerns.
• Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
• Actively participate in clinical services.
