About The Position
Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy student intern to gain pharmacy practice skills in a progressive pharmacy environment focused on patient care. The role offers experience with patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease-state management. All duties are performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
- Ability to adapt readily and positively to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities in response to business and customer needs.
- Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
- Take the steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescription knowledge, drug therapy, and health-related products and concerns.
- Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
- Actively participate in clinical services.
