About The Position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy student intern to provide patient-focused care in a progressive pharmacy setting. Interns gain pharmacy practice skills while contributing to patient health and building relationships with customers and the community. The role offers experience in patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease-state management. All duties are performed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.

Requirements

• Be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
• Be able to adapt readily and positively to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as business and customer needs demand.
• Be able to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
• Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescriptions, drug therapy, health-related products, and health concerns.
• Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
• Actively participate in clinical services.
• Gain experience in patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, MTM, point-of-care testing, and disease-state management.
