About The Position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a pharmacy student intern to gain pharmacy practice skills in a progressive environment focused on patient care. The role provides opportunities to work on patient counseling, customer service, over-the-counter medications, immunizations and vaccinations, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease-state management. Interns work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor and contribute to pharmacy services and customer relationships.

Requirements

Be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy.
Hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
Be able to adapt readily and positively to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as business and customer needs demand.
Be able to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Perform all duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist or designated pharmacist preceptor.
Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescription knowledge, drug therapy, and health-related products and concerns.
Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
Actively participate in clinical services.
