About The Position
As a Pre-Grad Intern on Walmart's pharmacy team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting patient care in a community pharmacy. You will help improve customer health and wellness while advocating for patient wellbeing. The pharmacy team focuses on exceptional customer service and the safe, efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services. The intern is paid and helps support the team's goals and the company's success. The role includes protecting confidential information and records, helping process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases, assisting patients with their needs and clinical therapies, and receiving and stocking merchandise and supplies. Interns also help manage inventory and maintain the pharmacy area.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
- Demonstrate proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices.
- Have the ability to foster relationships with customers and the pharmacy team.
- Be able to cater to individual patient needs.
- Commit to following HIPAA and PHI guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification.
Responsibilities
- Ensure confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records in accordance with company policies and local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Help process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases.
- Recognize patients, assess their needs, and help them navigate clinical therapies.
- Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
- Manage inventory and maintain the pharmacy area.
- Participate in community activities, outreach, and events.
