Wellington Regional Medical Center, a 235-bed acute care hospital in Wellington, Florida, owned by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor. Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from an ACPE accredited school.
  • Active Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Florida.
  • Pharmacist Consultant License.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional-level pharmacy experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Prior scheduling experience of 15 or more employees.
  • Proficiency in sterile compounding (USP <797>), hazardous drug handling (USP <800>).
  • Familiar with CDPH, Joint Commission, DEA, and Board of Pharmacy requirements for Acute Care Hospitals.
  • Mastery of pharmacy information systems such as Cerner, Pyxis, and clinical resources.
  • USP 795 / 797/ 800 Designated Person.

  • Board Certifications by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Treats everyone with dignity and respect and encourages collaborative relationships with colleagues, community providers, patients and family members.
  • Consistently identifies ways to improve customer service and feedback while reducing customer/patient complaints.
  • Regularly attends department meetings, Town Hall meetings and staff recognition events as appropriate.
  • Actively participates in department, hospital, and facility committees.
  • Assures timely compliance with job requirements which may include, annual FIT Testing, TB, Flu Vaccination, LMS, licensure and certification renewals.
  • Identifies own educational needs and seeks appropriate learning experience.
  • Adheres to facility and department attendance requirements.
  • Keeps work area clean, organized and clutter free. Notifies Office Manager as appropriate.
  • Ensures department has equipment and supplies necessary to provide consistent quality and service delivery.
  • Reports any unsafe situations or safety hazards immediately.
  • Labels and removes any malfunctioning equipment from service and notifies the Facilities Department.
  • Participates in Emergency Preparedness Drills. Demonstrates through practice drills and upon request understanding of his/her role in the event of an emergency or disaster.
  • Under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacy and Clinical Manager, creates and manages staffing schedules in the best interest of pharmacy operations and patient safety.
  • Facilitates real-time changes to staffing and assigned duties to achieve operational efficiency.
  • Assists Director and Clinical Manager with Employee Performance Evaluations.
  • Assists Director and Clinical Manager with regulatory compliance.
  • Assists Director and Clinical Manager with the creation and implementation of new processes.
  • Assists Director and Clinical Manager with pharmacy operations.
  • Oversees USP 795/797/800 compliance, training, documentation, Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
  • Oversees Controlled Substance Record Keeping per Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and Corporate regulations.
  • Oversees Free Standing Emergency Department Processes and Procedures.
  • Oversees Downtime procedure, document upkeep and training.
  • Optimizes Pharmacy Formulary, Pyxis, PAR levels, and identifies opportunities for cost savings and medication safety.
  • Assists Clinical Manager in developing pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure medication quality and safety.
  • Assists Director and Pharmacy Buyer in managing pharmacy budget.
  • Assists Clinical Manager and Pharmacy Buyer with drug shortage plans and communications.
