About The Position
Pharmacy Delivery Drivers bring customers’ prescriptions directly to them safely and on time, representing Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities with professionalism and a friendly attitude. The position involves driving a delivery vehicle, delivering prescriptions to specified locations, and supporting a positive customer experience. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
- Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
- Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential patient information.
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make each customer interaction positive.
- Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
- Enter and exit the delivery vehicle multiple times per shift and navigate stairs and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
- Facilitate delivery vehicle maintenance and upkeep, and promptly report issues.
- Protect the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed and complete special projects as assigned.
- Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time.
