About The Position

Hy-Vee Pharmacy Delivery Drivers deliver customers’ prescriptions directly to them safely, on time, and professionally. They represent Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities, providing friendly service while protecting confidential medical information. The role includes driving a delivery vehicle, maintaining the vehicle, supporting store operations as needed, and following company policies and safety requirements. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older to drive a company vehicle.
Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential patient information.
Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make each customer interaction positive.
Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter and exit the delivery vehicle multiple times per shift and navigate staircases and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
Facilitate maintenance and upkeep of delivery vehicles and promptly report issues.
Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
Maintain personal hygiene and dress standards and follow Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
