About The Position

Hy-Vee Pharmacy Delivery Drivers deliver prescriptions directly to customers safely, on time, and professionally. They represent Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities, providing friendly service while maintaining the confidentiality of private medical information in accordance with HIPAA. The position involves driving and maintaining a delivery vehicle, delivering pharmacy orders, and helping in other store areas as needed. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to use discretion when handling confidential patient information.
Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning or sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make each interaction positive.
Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter and exit the delivery vehicle repeatedly and navigate staircases and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
Facilitate vehicle maintenance and upkeep and promptly report issues.
Protect the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
