About The Position
Hy-Vee Pharmacy Delivery Drivers deliver customers’ prescriptions safely and on time, representing the company professionally and courteously in customers’ homes and communities. The role includes driving to delivery destinations, assisting customers, maintaining the delivery vehicle, protecting confidential medical information, and supporting store operations as needed. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
- Ability to use discretion when handling confidential patient information.
- Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
- Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
- Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
- Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
- Enter and exit the delivery vehicle repeatedly and navigate staircases and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
- Facilitate the maintenance and upkeep of delivery vehicles and promptly report issues.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed and complete special projects as assigned.
- Adhere to personal hygiene and dress standards and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time.
