About The Position

The Pharmacy Delivery Driver delivers pharmacy customers’ prescriptions directly to specified locations safely, promptly, and professionally. The role represents Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities and requires a friendly, customer-focused approach, discretion with private medical information, and adherence to company policies and applicable DOT standards. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
• Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential patient information.
• Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
• Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
• Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
• Enter and exit the delivery vehicle multiple times per shift and navigate stairs and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
• Facilitate vehicle maintenance and upkeep and promptly report vehicle issues.
• Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
