About The Position

Hy-Vee Pharmacy Delivery Drivers deliver customers’ prescriptions safely and on time to specified locations, including customers’ homes and communities. They represent Hy-Vee through professional, friendly customer service and help make customers’ lives easier, healthier, and happier. The role involves driving a delivery vehicle, completing deliveries, maintaining the vehicle, protecting confidential medical information in accordance with HIPAA, and supporting other store areas as needed. Training is provided.

Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to use discretion when handling confidential patient information.
Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions.
Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make each customer interaction positive.
Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter and exit the delivery vehicle multiple times per shift and navigate staircases and varied terrain to reach delivery destinations.
Keep the delivery vehicle clean inside and out.
Facilitate vehicle maintenance and upkeep, and promptly report any issues.
Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
