About The Position

Hy-Vee Pharmacy Delivery Drivers bring customers’ prescriptions directly to them safely and on time, representing Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities with professionalism and a friendly attitude. The role involves driving a delivery vehicle, providing customer service, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and upkeep, and protecting confidential medical information. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
• Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential patient information.
• Commitment to the Hy-Vee mission and willingness to promote company values.
• Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
• Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make each interaction positive.
• Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
• Enter and exit the delivery vehicle repeatedly and navigate staircases and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
• Facilitate delivery vehicle maintenance and upkeep, and promptly report issues.
• Protect the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
