About The Position

Hy-Vee Pharmacy Delivery Drivers bring customers’ prescriptions directly to them safely and on time, representing Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities with professionalism and a friendly attitude. The role involves driving and delivering prescriptions, providing customer service, handling confidential medical information in accordance with HIPAA, and helping maintain delivery vehicles. Drivers may also assist in other store areas and take on assigned projects. Training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential patient information.
Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make each customer interaction positive.
Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter and exit the delivery vehicle multiple times per shift and navigate stairs and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
Facilitate delivery vehicle maintenance and upkeep, and promptly report issues.
Protect the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store as needed and complete special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
