About The Position

AuBurn Long Term Care Pharmacy is hiring a full-time Billing Clerk in Wichita, Kansas. The closed-door pharmacy serves local nursing homes, group homes, and similar facilities. The role supports long-term care facilities with billing processes and policies, including accounts payable and receivable, insurance billing, new facility setup, records management, and customer service. The clerk must maintain strict confidentiality and comply with applicable federal and state laws. The schedule may include evenings and weekends, up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Kansas Licensed Pharmacy Technician, or must obtain licensure.
Ability to build positive facility and customer relations.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Ability to think independently and offer suggestions for improving the department and company.
Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities under tight time frames.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build credibility and trust.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential material.
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment and long-term care systems.

Nice To Haves

Medical-field billing experience preferred.
Minimum two years of pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Resolve insurance rejections and other issues in a timely manner.
Complete daily tasks and meet deadlines for rejects, returns, e-kits, projects, rebills, and other assigned departmental work.
Follow up with patients and family members about insurance coverage, co-pays, claim questions, and other inquiries to support customer satisfaction.
Initiate prior authorizations for rejected claims and determine appropriate solutions.
Generate and export daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the long-term care location.
Enter patient information when a new facility starts up.
