About The Position

The Pharmacist creates an outstanding customer experience and inspires associates to deliver excellent customer service. The role establishes and maintains a safe, clean environment, achieves department sales and profit goals, controls quality assurance standards and expenses, and schedules and staffs technicians to meet business needs. The Pharmacist monitors department functions and demonstrates the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position fulfills prescription needs with a focus on accuracy, administers vaccines as needed, and provides patient counseling and pharmaceutical care. It ensures legal and company-policy compliance, maintains pharmacy operations and records, supports a professional and sanitary pharmacy environment, and works cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful setting.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of basic math, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
Ability to handle stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

1 year of retail experience.
A second language, in speaking, reading, and/or writing.

Responsibilities

Fulfill customers’ prescription needs while concentrating on the accuracy of every prescription filled.
Administer vaccines as needed.
Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care to customers.
Ensure pharmacies comply with all local, state, and federal laws, including HIPAA.
Maintain a professional image through personal appearance, conduct, attitude, and the physical condition of the pharmacy; adhere to pharmacy standards and enforce company dress standards.
Develop a thorough knowledge of the trade area, its customers, and its competition.
Create a positive pharmacy department image through strong service, friendliness, and cooperation with customers, associates, and outside vendors.
Monitor stock replenishment, inventory levels, policies and procedures, record keeping, security, sanitation, scheduling, equipment operation, pricing, planograms, returns, budgets, management reports, and product recalls according to company policy.
Maintain proper records, inventory, and security for scheduled drugs, including controlled substances and narcotics.
Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources.
Ensure accuracy tools, including the accuracy scanner and 24-hour post-dispensing audit report, are used appropriately.
Maintain records needed for legal compliance, company and accounting policies, and requested reports.
Maintain a clean, neat work area, including counters, shelves, floors, and the customer counter.
Ensure product returns are handled promptly and according to company policy.
Maintain equipment, including computers, printers, accuracy scanners, and cash registers, in working condition.
Maintain and organize policy manuals, reference books, state laws, and required equipment, and verify staff knowledge of their use.
Maintain required signage, including store hours, counseling and service signs, pharmacist photographs and names, and other requested signs.
Make a strong and continuous effort to broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
