About The Position

Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital in Wildwood, Missouri, is hiring a full-time Pet Care Specialist to help provide attentive care for animals during their stay at the hospital. The role works alongside veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to maintain high standards of animal care and customer service. Duties include monitoring animals’ health and comfort, feeding and walking them, maintaining clean housing and work areas, providing basic medication, and supporting boarding check-in and checkout. The hospital operates seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and candidates must have open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The stated pay range is $15.00–$17.00 per hour, based on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

Monitor animals’ health and comfort, recognize and respond to emergencies, and report health concerns.
Document treatments, activities, and observations.
Walk dogs in all weather conditions.
Feed dogs and cats and provide scheduled fresh water.
Wash dishes, bowls, litter boxes, kennels, and cages.
Replace soiled bedding and handle laundry tasks.
Bathe animals as needed before discharge.
Perform housekeeping in animal housing, food preparation, and laundry areas.
Administer oral and topical medications, including flea and tick treatments.
Assist with boarding patient check-in and checkout, including proper labeling and ID collars.
Identify and alleviate stress in boarding animals through interactive play and mental stimulation.
