Pet Care Specialist
About The Position
Barkaritaville Pet Resort in San Antonio is hiring full-time and part-time Kennel Attendants to provide hands-on daily care for dogs. The role includes feeding, bathing, walking, cleaning, and monitoring dogs’ behavior to support their comfort and safety. Kennel Attendants work with the team to keep the facility clean, positive, and organized, and may assist with client communication and facility tours. The work is active and involves lifting, bending, and standing for most of a shift. Employees must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varied weather, including heat and rain. Available shifts run from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., or 12:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Weekend and holiday availability is required, including at least alternating weekends and holidays. Starting pay is $14.00 plus tips, based on experience. Barkaritaville Pet Resort is a locally owned and operated pet care facility with over 30 years of experience. Its San Antonio facility includes indoor play spaces, covered outdoor yards, and a swimming pool. The team receives ongoing training in pet safety, body language, and first aid.
Requirements

- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable attendance and solid work history.
- Availability to work at least alternating weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift, bend, and remain on your feet for most of a shift.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and interact with dogs in group and individual settings.
- Feed, walk, and bathe dogs in the resort’s care.
- Clean suites, play areas, and common spaces.
- Ensure pets are eating and drinking and behaving normally.
- Update notes and pet care logs in the facility’s software.
- Follow safety protocols and cleanliness standards.
- Assist with client communication and facility tours when needed.
