Pet Care Specialist
About The Position
Barkaritaville Pet Resort in Corpus Christi is hiring full-time and part-time Kennel Attendants to care for dogs staying at the facility and help ensure their comfort, cleanliness, safety, and happiness. The role involves engaging with dogs of different sizes and personalities while maintaining a clean, organized environment. Work takes place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain. This is a physically active position involving bending, lifting, walking, and standing for most of the shift. The resort is a locally owned, full-service pet care facility with over 30 years of experience in animal care. Its services include daycare, boarding, grooming, and enrichment programs. The company describes its work culture as supportive and team-oriented and emphasizes providing a high level of care and a stress-free experience for pets and their owners. Pay is $12.00–$13.00 per hour plus tips, based on experience. Full-time schedules are 30–35 hours per week; part-time schedules are 20–30 hours per week. Shift options are 7:00 AM–6:30 PM, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM, and 12:00 PM–6:30 PM. Weekend and holiday availability is required, including at least alternating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities
- Feed, walk, and bathe pets.
- Monitor animals’ behavior and report concerns.
- Clean and sanitize suites, yards, and common areas.
- Scoop waste, mop, vacuum, and do laundry.
- Assist with pet check-ins and check-outs.
- Occasionally give facility tours and update pet records in the system.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
