Evening Cranston Pet Care Professional (Pet Sitting & Dog Walking)
About The Position
Furry Fellas Pet Service LLC is seeking experienced Pet Care Professionals for evening pet sitting and dog walking roles in Cranston, RI. This is a long-term, part-time position for individuals passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and their families. The role involves visiting clients' homes to provide dog walking, pet sitting for dogs, cats, and other small animals, administering medications, and ensuring the well-being and happiness of the pets. The company has been in business since 2006 and is committed to the highest quality of care, with staff expected to have prior professional animal care experience and a genuine passion for animals.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Prior professional animal care experience.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Smartphone with reliable internet access.
- Daily access to email and the internet.
- Comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling, communication, and visit documentation.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors walking dogs year-round in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Prior professional animal care experience means having cared for animals in a professional, volunteer, or educational setting (e.g., Pet Sitting or Dog Walking, Veterinary Hospital or clinic, Animal shelter or rescue organization, Dog daycare or boarding facility, Pet grooming salon, Pet / Dog Training, Veterinary technician or assistant, Animal care technician, Veterinary, animal science or related internship/externship, Horse barns, equine facilities, farm animal care, Wildlife rehabilitation or care, zoo/aquarium experience).
Nice To Haves
- Additional Weekend availability is a plus and may provide opportunities for more hours.
- Certified Vet Techs, Certified Dog Trainers, and Fear Free Certified Professionals may receive additional pay.
Responsibilities
- Perform dog walking, exercising dogs, and letting them out for bathroom breaks.
- Provide pet sitting services including feeding, administering medications, and cat/small animal care.
- Clean litter boxes and provide love and attention to pets.
- Travel frequently between clients' homes to care for their companions.
- Follow detailed care instructions provided by the client and within the client management system.
- Leave a note for clients after each visit detailing how the visits went.
