Evening Providence Pet Care Professional (Pet Sitting & Dog Walking)
About The Position
Furry Fellas Pet Service LLC is hiring experienced Pet Care Professionals for evening pet sitting and dog walking in Providence, RI. The ideal candidate has prior professional animal care experience, is reliable, passionate about pets, and comfortable with various animals and situations. This role requires reliable transportation, a smartphone, independence, and strong communication skills. The company has been in business since 2006, offering dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight pet sitting services. Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Prior professional animal care experience.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Smartphone with reliable internet access.
- Daily access to email and the internet.
- Comfortable using mobile apps for scheduling, communication, and visit documentation.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors walking dogs year-round in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Consistent evening availability Monday through Friday between the hours of 5-9pm, 6-9pm, or 7-9pm.
- Availability for 10-20 hours per week.
- Prior professional animal care experience means caring for animals in a professional, volunteer, or educational setting (e.g., Pet Sitting or Dog Walking, Veterinary Hospital, Animal shelter, Dog daycare, Pet grooming, Pet/Dog Training, Veterinary technician, Animal care technician, Veterinary/animal science internship, Horse barns, Wildlife rehabilitation).
Nice To Haves
- Additional weekend availability is a plus and may provide opportunities for more hours.
- Additional pay available for advanced certifications including +$1 per visit equivalent for Certified Vet Techs, Certified Dog Trainers and Fear Free Certified Professionals.
Responsibilities
- Perform visits including dog walking, exercising dogs, letting dogs out for bathroom breaks, pet sitting, feeding, administering medications (when applicable), cat care/small animal care, litter box cleaning, and providing love and attention.
- Travel frequently between clients' homes throughout assigned service areas.
- Follow detailed care instructions provided by the client and within the client management system.
- Leave a note for clients after each visit detailing how the visits went.
