Personnel Attendant- Caregiver
About The Position
Salus is hiring Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers for multiple client cases in the Valley, including North Hollywood, Van Nuys, Panorama City, Pacoima, Sylmar, Arleta, Mission Hills, North Hills, Sun Valley, Granada Hills, Chatsworth, Northridge, Canoga Park, Winnetka, and surrounding areas. Morning, afternoon, weekend, and overnight cases are available. Part-time shifts are 4–6 hours, with pay of $20.00–$23.00 per hour. Full-time shifts are 8–12 hours, with pay of $19.00–$20.00 per hour. The position is described as having seven-day availability and is available to start now. Caregivers provide companionship and personal care to clients in their homes, assist with daily activities and mobility, and may transport clients to appointments, errands, and activities. They are expected to be punctual, adaptable, maintain client confidentiality, report abnormal findings or conditions to the office, and represent the company positively.
Requirements
- Home Care Aide (HCA) certification, including registration as a Personal Attendant and Livescan fingerprints for an FBI background check; Salus can assist applicants who are not currently certified.
- TB test completed within 90 days of starting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Physical capability to perform all job functions.
- Safe driving record and valid auto insurance if driving clients.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a companion to clients.
- Arrive at clients’ homes on time.
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation and feeding, dressing and undressing, ambulation, and other activities as needed.
- Transport clients to and from appointments, errands, and activities.
- Turn and reposition clients, and move them between beds, wheelchairs, and seats.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in meeting clients’ needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information according to HIPAA standards.
- Notify the office of abnormal findings or conditions.
- Represent the company with a positive image at all times.
