About The Position

Salus is hiring Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers for multiple cases in South Bay and surrounding areas, including Torrance, Long Beach, Cerritos, Carson, Rolling Hills, Rancho Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, and Manhattan Beach. Available schedules include mornings, weekends, and overnights. Part-time shifts are 4–6 hours, with pay of $20–$23 per hour. Full-time shifts are 8–12 hours, with pay of $19–$20 per hour. Applicants must have seven-day availability and be ready to start now. Salus can assist applicants who are not yet certified with the Homecare Aide registration process.

Requirements

Homecare Aide Certification (HCA), a California state requirement involving registration as a Personal Attendant and Live Scan fingerprinting for an FBI background check; Salus can assist applicants who are not currently certified.
TB test completed within 90 days of starting.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical ability to perform all job functions.
Safe driving record and valid auto insurance if driving clients.
Seven-day availability.

Responsibilities

Serve as a companion to clients.
Arrive at clients’ homes on time.
Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation and feeding, dressing and undressing, ambulation, and other activities as needed.
Transport clients to and from appointments, errands, and activities.
Turn and reposition clients and move them between beds, wheelchairs, and seats.
Adapt flexibly to meet clients’ needs.
Maintain client confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
Notify the office of abnormal findings or conditions.
Represent the company positively at all times.
