About The Position

As a Caregiver with Assisting Hands, you will provide compassionate and reliable custodial and personal care services to clients in their homes. You will follow the Staffing Coordinator’s guidance and each client’s personalized Plan of Care, helping clients maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment while supporting their independence. Hours vary according to client needs and assignments. Flexible shifts are available 24/7 based on your availability, but a fixed number of hours is not guaranteed.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in a home care, long-term care, or similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms, living areas, and bedrooms, and assist with dishes, laundry, and other cleaning tasks.
Maintain a comfortable, organized, safe, and hygienic home environment.
Assist clients with personal care activities, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, shaving, and transferring.
Support client mobility, ambulation, and exercise routines as prescribed in the Plan of Care.
Assist with eating and other activities of daily living as needed.
Help prepare and serve meals, assist with feeding and meal planning, and support clients’ dietary needs according to their health plan.
Observe and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional condition to the Staffing Coordinator.
Maintain accurate records of personal care activities, vital signs, fluid intake and output, and other health metrics as needed.
Monitor and document significant behavioral changes in clients.
Assist clients in using mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, walkers, and Hoyer lifts.
Encourage and assist with prescribed physical exercises, including range-of-motion routines.
Help teach and support family members with basic care routines and safety measures.
Follow infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene, in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Follow policies and procedures in the Caregiver Handbook, Policy and Procedure Manual, and Caregiver Training Manual.
